Hugel Inc., a leading global medical aesthetics company publicly traded in South Korea, strengthened its engagement with healthcare professionals (HCPs) from Taiwan, a key medical aesthetics market in the Asia-Pacific, through its global educational program “L.E.A.D.: Letybo Experience & Discovery,” held in Korea from September 16 to 19.
During the program, the 25 Taiwanese participants toured the plant for Hugel’s botulinum toxin product Letybo and hyaluronic acid (HA) filler The Chaeum which is marketed as Revolax in Taiwan. The visit provided the HCPs with an opportunity to gain firsthand insight into Hugel’s manufacturing processes and quality management capabilities, which are aligned with global standards.
The HCPs also visited aesthetic clinics to learn about the latest trends in Korea’s medical aesthetics market, as well as treatment techniques and clinical cases reflecting those trends. Dr. Seung-ju Lee, Director of THE OTHER DERMATOLOGY, conducted live demonstrations using Letybo and The Chaeum, offering practical, hands-on training applicable to clinical settings.
Taiwan is one of the major medical aesthetics markets in the Asia-Pacific region, with strong demand for aesthetic treatments involving botulinum toxin, HA fillers, and skinboosters. Hugel became the first Korean company to enter the Taiwanese market in 2019 and established a direct sales system through its local subsidiary. The company ranks second in Taiwan’s botulinum toxin market, with a share of approximately 30%.
Hugel aims to increase its botulinum toxin market share in Taiwan to 35% by 2027. It also plans to gradually expand its HA filler portfolio, which was launched in Taiwan in the first half of last year, to create synergies with its botulinum toxin business and further strengthen its presence in the Taiwanese medical aesthetics market.
“The educational program was designed to strengthen our network with healthcare professionals in Taiwan, one of the key medical aesthetics markets in Asia, and provide them with an opportunity to gain firsthand experience with Hugel’s high-quality, competitive products,” said Seanguk Ji, Executive Vice President of Hugel. “We will continue to grow our share of the botulinum toxin market in Taiwan while enhancing the competitiveness of our broader portfolio, including HA fillers and cosmetics.”
